A common question, Revathy.
Initially, people find the concept of skins a little confusing. After all, how can a software application or program have a skin?
Skins allow users to customise the appearance of programs. You can either download new skins, or create your own.
Bored? Tired of the same grey background staring at you when you are working on your computer? Now you can install a skin on your browser and give it an exciting and colourful look.
WEB RESOURCES:
My personal favourite is Hotbar which has skins for Internet Explorer only. It has an archive of over 55,000 skins to choose from. Installation is simple and there is also an option of sending a skin to a friend. Categories include music, animals, art and people. If you have your own Web site, you can also offer these skins to attract more traffic to your site.
For users of Netscape 6, skins and themes can be changed from the Themes Manager in Preferences, or from the View menu. You can learn to install skins or themes here and also from the Netscape site. You could also visit Netscape 6 Theme Park to change your browser a bit.
Like Netscape and IE, NeoPlanet is another browser which offers colourful and exciting skins. You can choose from categories like art, fantasy, music, technology and sports.
If you're a celebrity fan, like Bubbles (his current favourite is Angelina Jolie) you can head to Celebrity Pro or even design your own browser skin.
For more resources on Skins and Themes you can also try this link from Rediff Search. So go ahead and get a skin. After all, even your browser needs a personality change to suit your image.
