A school teacher in Bengaluru is under investigation after allegedly slapping and hitting a class two student for failing to answer a maths question. The incident led to a police complaint and subsequent inquiry.
Bengaluru City Police arrested 16 individuals, including two women, for alleged drug peddling and seized contraband worth 5.24 crore. The Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch made the arrests, seizing MDMA ecstasy pills, MDMA crystal, ganja, and hydro ganja. Nine foreign nationals overstaying their visas and allegedly involved in drug peddling were also taken into custody.

The court has also permitted shifting of other co-accused in the murder case to various prisons in the state, and a few of them were relocated today.

Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been granted bail by the Karnataka High Court in the Renukaswamy murder case. The actor, along with his friend Pavithra Gowda and seven others, was arrested in June for allegedly killing Renukaswamy, a fan, for sending obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda.
