Agora's latest contest challenged photographers from all over the world to show what spring looks like in their corner of the planet. In total, 14,596 photographers participated in the #Spring2020 contest.

From climate change protests to democratic uprisings against biased and violent authorities, it is clear that 2019 was a pivotal year for citizens all over the world. Free-to-use mobile app Agora launched its first #Photojournalism photo competition to give photographers a way to shed light on specific issues. The competition gathered more than 12,321 submissions from amateur and professional photographers all over the world. 'Young guns,' a striking picture of a group of Filipino children playing with dumpsite toy guns collected the most votes in the app, awarding its author @renebernal with a $1,000 cash prize. A colourful photo of a green iguana strolling through sunflowers (below) by Indonesian photographer @jjnmatt was voted the overall winner of the "World Best Photos Of Animals 2020" competition organised by photo app Agora. Fifty images from around the world were selected as finalists from 13,888 submissions to the contest, "showing the wide and precious variety of animal life surrounding us," according to the organisers. "We challenged international photographers to participate in the #Animals2020 photo contest with their best shots of living creatures around the planet." The death of George Floyd -- a 46-year-old Black man -- on May 25 in Minneapolis, United States as he was being detained by four police officers sparked fury across the United States, but has also proven to be the catalyst for anti-racism movements around the world. The killing has spurred millions of people into taking action, with protesters filling the streets and taking to social media. Agora, a photography app company that compiles photographs submitted by its users -- both amateur and professional -- and that runs photography awards to showcase the best submissions has released a series of images taken during the Black Lives Matter movement as part of the company's own #StopRacism campaign.

These incredible pictures show what freedom means to 50 top photographers from around the globe. Free-to-use photography app Agora asked its 3.5 million users to take a photo which they thought would best illustrate the theme of 'freedom'. After nearly 20,000 entries, 50 images have made it to the final and are now being voted on --competing to be crowned the 'World's Best photo of #Freedom2020'. Voting is open now and the winner will be selected by January 23, with the top photographer will win $1,000 (Rs 70,850).

Since the beginning of time, the colour green has been associated with growth, life, fertility, energy, and vitality. This invigorating and refreshing colour has demonstrated calming virtues that can bring a certain harmony to the body. Agora launched its #Green2020 photo competition through its mobile app on May 15, following which 17,689 photos representing the colour of growth, regeneration, and health were submitted to the online contest. The spectacular entries include a striking shot of a natural spring in Jalapo State Park, Brazil and at the Tumpak Sewu waterfall on East Java, Indonesia. These incredible photos show off just how expressive the eyes can be. Photographers from around the globe were challenged to capture images which featured eyes as part of the Agora Images contest called the World's Best Photos of #Eyes2019. There were more than 23,660 submissions, and the photos featured below have all made the top 50 -- which is an incredible achievement. A winner will be selected on December 12 who will win the prize of $1,000 (Rs 71,772).

In total, 15,697 photos have been submitted to the contest. The power is now in the global community's hands to cast their votes and decide which photo should win #StayHome. The most-voted photo will be revealed through the Agora app on May 27 and will win the top prize of $1,000. Octavi Royo, CEO and co-founder of the app Agora, which is running the competiton, said the photos gave 'a point of view on the confinement and to share a message of hope to humanity through their photograph'.
