The Indian government has increased the salaries of Members of Parliament (MPs) by 24 percent, effective April 1, 2023. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to impose property tax on commercial establishments operating in slum areas and is also considering the levy of a Solid Waste Management (SWM) user charge in the future.
