What started as a mere payment delay seems to have grown into a tussle between the government and leading private hospitals, empanelled under the Central Government Health Scheme.
"The fire reportedly started from an AC unit of the ICU located on the second floor of the hospital. The blaze remained confined to that floor and did not spread further," Nagpur Municipal Corporation's chief fire officer Rajendra Uchke said, adding that it is a non-COVID hospital.

At least 11 passengers were killed and 25 others injured after a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus overturned in Gondia district of the state on Friday afternoon. The bus, operated under the service name 'Shiv Shahi', was carrying 36 passengers and heading to Gondia district from Bhandara in eastern Maharashtra when it flipped over at Khajri village in Sadak Arjuni taluka after its driver applied brakes to avoid hitting a two-wheeler that suddenly came in the front. The injured passengers were shifted to different hospitals.

Mumbai police have informed a court that they need to conduct facial recognition of the Bangladeshi man arrested for allegedly stabbing Saif Ali Khan to ascertain if he is the person seen in CCTV footage. The accused, Shareeful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, has been remanded in police custody till January 29. The police are also seeking to match Fakir's footprints and recover the missing part of the knife used in the crime. Fakir's lawyers have opposed the police's plea, raising doubts about the credibility of the incident and arguing that the remand of the accused is not required to recover the material.

The civic health department has assured that there is no need for panic as of now.

Under the scheme, any Dalit student from Delhi will be able to receive education in foreign universities. If they get admission in any such university, the Delhi government will bear the entire cost of their education, travel and accommodation. Children of government employees will also be eligible for the scheme.
