Sudheendra Kulkarni, former aide of Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani and an accused in the cash-for-vote case, on Saturday moved the Delhi high court against refusal of bail to him by the trial court. Besides Kulkarni, former BJP Members of Parliament Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahabir Singh Bhagora also approached the high court, challenging the verdict of the trial court dismissing their bail pleas.

India's fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector witnessed growth in rural consumption in volume terms outpace urban consumption for the first time in five quarters, in the January-March period. According to a report from consumer intelligence firm NIQ, rural consumption grew at a rate of 7.6 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) in Q1CY24, overtaking that in urban areas which stood at 5.7 per cent.

The Adani group on Monday said it will offer eligible residents of the Dharavi slum clusters new flats measuring 350 sq ft. The Adani group, which is redeveloping Dharavi slums in collaboration with the Maharashtra government, claimed the flat size was "17 per cent more" than what is offered as part of slum redevelopment projects. The new flats will have a kitchen and toilet, Adani said in a statement, adding that earlier, the dwellers of informal settlements were given houses measuring 269 sq ft.
