The selection committee meeting to pick the Indian team for the one-day series against England will go ahead on Friday despite the BCCI being hit by administrative crisis following the latest Supreme Court order. The BCCI announced that the selection panel headed by former India wicketkeeper MSK Prasad will gather in Mumbai on Friday to pick the Indian team for England series, comprising three ODIs and as many T20 Internationals, starting January 15. The selectors will also pick the India A squad for two warm-up matches against England to be held at CCI, Mumbai.

Veteran administrator Niranjan Shah, who has ruled Saurashtra cricket for over four decades, says he is as good as out of the state body post the Supreme Court's latest order on the implementation of Lodha reforms in Indian cricket. Speaking to PTI, Shah said there is no need for him to resign as secretary of the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) with Lodha recommendation making him ineligible to hold any post in cricket administration. Among other recommendations, Lodha panel has put an age cap of 70 years for the officer-bearers in the BCCI as well its state associations. Shah is 72 years old.

Supreme Court has dismissed the BCCI's plea seeking a review of its July 18 verdict directing it to implement the recommendations of Justice R M Lodha panel on massive structural reforms in the cricket body. "We have examined the grounds urged in support of the prayer for review. We find no error apparent on the face of the record to warrant recall of our order dated July 18, 2016. The review petitions are, accordingly, dismissed," a bench of Chief Justice T S Thakur and Justice S A Bobde said.
