The ICC on Friday announced that following remedial work and re-assessments, the bowling actions of Bangladesh's Arafat Sunny and Taskin Ahmed have been found to be legal, and both players can immediately resume bowling in international cricket. At the re-assessments, which were carried out at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane on September 8, it was revealed that the amount of elbow extension in all of Arafat and Taskin's deliveries were now within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the ICC regulations.

Opening the bowling for the first time in his international career, Pandya struck in his first over dismissing the dangerous Martin Guptill. "The ball was doing a lot; it was swinging. I knew if I put it in the right spots, something would happen. Two balls went for fours, but I had backed myself that something will happen. The captain was always supporting me.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan has said that it is the joint responsibility of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Indian government to ensure best security for the Pakistan team in the World T20. Khan told the media in Lahore on Monday that the PCB was closely monitoring all developments surrounding the World T20 and Pakistan's participation in it.
