The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a closure report in the alleged suicide case of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, officials said. The CBI has submitted its findings before a special court in Mumbai, which will now decide whether to accept the report or order further probe by the agency. Rajput was found hanging from the ceiling of his apartment in suburban Bandra in Mumbai on June 14, 2020.

The Central Bureau of Investigation also pointed out that it is probing the complaint filed by Rajput's father K K Singh against Chakraborty and her family members for allegedly abetting the 34-year-old actor's suicide.
The top cop said that he had used the word 'aukat' for Chakraborty, as she had made some baseless comments against the Bihar chief minister despite being an accused in the case which was under the Bihar police. He also said that he would apologise to the actor if she was hurt by his words, but advised her to fight the legal battle.
"I say that he (Sushant) was not a Rajput. Please don't mind but a Rajput who belongs to Maharana Pratap's clan cannot hang himself by a rope," Yadav said on Wednesday while inaugurating a newly-built road in Saharsa, his assembly constituency.
The police team arrived on July 28 to probe the 'abetment to suicide' case registered by the actor's father in Patna against Rhea Chakraborty and others.
