The Central Bureau of Investigation informed the Rajasthan high court on Tuesday that midwife Bhanwari Devi is no more and requested the court to quash the habeas corpus petition filed by her husband Amarchand. But the court refused to quash the petition and asked CBI to produce the final report on February 21. The CBI had appeared before the division bench of the Rajasthan high court comprising Justice Govind Mathur and Justice N K Jain.

Sylvester, who fled after being produced in a court in Udaipur, was picked up by a Special Task Force of the Rajasthan police from Gopalpura area in Udaipur near the Vrindavan Garden at around 10.30 pm. Vadodara Police Commissioner Satish Sharma said Sylvester was arrested as he tried to enter his house.
