Questioning Pakistan's stand on Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday asked whether the militant attack on the BSF convoy in Bijbehara was the way to show its love for the people.
Mehbooba slams Omar Abdullah for his inability and lack of understanding of Kashmir politics. While she gives some credit to Congressman Ghulam Nabi Azad as a chief minister, for her junior Abdullah is "the most inefficient chief minister the state has ever had."
In an open letter to Mehbooba Mufti, the National Conference leader said "to dilly-dally is the biggest disservice you can do" to people of the state as they should not be denied an elected government.
The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday sought the intervention of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh "to arrest the downslide in the border situation which has generated fear and panic among the people".
"Nomination of Kashmir interlocutors has dampened the hope. It is more or less a useless exercise," she said.
She also voiced hope that the Centre will initiate an inclusive engagement through an institutionalised mechanism to address the Kashmir issue and the separatists will respond positively to it.

Omar said that the NC has been telling them time and again that if they are not ready to form the government, they should be bold enough to break the alliance.
The PDP said the party will take a call on government formation in the state as and when it is confident that it can fulfill the vision and mission of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Mehbooba Mufti, his eldest child, will likely succeed him.
The Bharatiya Janata Party said that there should not be any politics on the Supreme Court ruling and everyone should respect it.
She also underlined that 'black laws' like AFSPA would be repealed from the state only when the situation improves.
She indicated that she was not looking for any financial package but the confidence building measures sought by her should focus on political aspect of the problem.
Mehbooba Mufti is likely to call a meeting of senior party leaders in the coming days to clear the "misgivings" about the deadlock over government formation with the BJP.
