The condition of Rajesh Talwar, father of murdered teenager Aarushi, who was on Tuesday attacked by a 30-year-old man, is stable, doctors attending on him said. Talwar, 54, was admitted in the city's Apollo hospital with injuries in the right side of the forehead and the hands, which he suffered when he was attacked by Utsav Sharma outside a Ghaziabad court. According to the doctors, Talwar was bleeding profusely when he was brought to the hospital.

A young man, who allegedly inflicted knife injuries on former Haryana director general of police SPS Rathore, convicted in the Ruchika molestation case, was on Friday granted bail by a court in Chandigarh. Sharma, a student of Ahmedabad's prestigious National Institute of Design, had stabbed 68-year-old Rathore thrice in the face with a pocket knife on Monday, while posing as a journalist. The incident occurred when the former top cop was leaving the court.

Anuj Chauhan, one of the two persons injured in Thursday's BMW hit-and-run case in New Delhi, succumbed to his injuries at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Saturday. Chauhan and his friend Mrigank Srivastav, who were riding a motorcycle, were hit by a BMW in the wee hours of Friday, when they tried to overtake it at the Moolchand Hospital flyover.The BMW was being driven by Utsav Bhasin, the son of an influential businessman, who was reportedly inebriated.

A prime witness in the 1993 riots case identified Shiv Sena leader Madhukar Sarpotdar before a special riots court in Mumbai on Friday.Police Inspector Madhav Khanolkar told the court that he was on duty on December 27, 1992, when a mob of people from the Ganesh Utsav Samiti Mandal gathered near the Ganesh temple in suburban Kherwadi area of Mumbai. He said that Sarpotdar, one K P Naik and Ramesh Pawar from the Sena were present with the trustees of the Mandal.
