A MiG-21 Bison aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed during a routine sortie near the Naliya Airbase in Kutch on Saturday, with the pilot ejecting safely. The fighter plane crash-landed 30 kilometres from the air base in an open forest area, IAF officials said. There were no casualties in the mishap.

An earthquake, measuring 5 on the Richter Scale, jolted many parts of Gujarat in the wee hours of Thursday, but there were no reports of damage to property or loss of life. A moderate earthquake was experienced on Wednesday, which had its epicenter at 26 km South South-East of Dholavira in Kutch district. Tremors were felt in Bhuj, Rapar, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar and Ahmedabad cities too, according to officials of the seismological department.

Seven Pakistani nationals have been arrested and their boat seized for entering Indian waters near Jhakhau off the west coast of Kutch district, Indian Coast Guard officials said on Sunday. The boat named Al-Shakira was intercepted on Saturday evening when the Coast Guard team was patrolling Arabian Sea near the India-Pakistan maritime border. The boat had seven Pakistani crew members on board. They are being brought to Okha in Jamnagar, where they will be interrogated.
