A constable posted with the emergency police response service Dial 112 in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested and sent to judicial custody after a woman lodged a complaint accusing him of sexual exploitation, police said on Thursday.
A man wanted in connection with an attempted murder case and an attack on a police team was arrested in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, following an exchange of fire with the police.
A 45-year-old passenger fell to his death from an air-conditioned Uttar Pradesh roadways bus after he opened its door to spit 'pann' as the vehicle moved through the Purvanchal Expressway. The incident took place on Saturday morning near Bihi village in the Baldirai police station area. The deceased, Ram Jiavan, was a resident of Chinhat area in Lucknow. The bus has been taken to the police station for further investigation and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
