Tech giant Apple on Wednesday said it has slashed its App Store commission by half to 15 per cent for small businesses earning up to $1 million (about Rs 7.4 crore) per year on the platform. In the past, tech majors Apple and Google have been criticised for the high commissions charged from app developers. Apple, in a statement, said the new developer programme will accelerate innovation and help small businesses and independent developers propel their businesses forward with the next generation of groundbreaking apps on the App Store.

The Centre on Monday told the Supreme Court that it is taking all measures to extradite fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya, accused in bank loan default case of over Rs 9,000 crore involving his defunct Kingfisher Airlines from United Kingdom, but the process is being delayed due o some legal issues involved in the matter. A bench of Justices U U Lalit and Ashok Bhushan posted the matter for further hearing on March 15, after Solicitor General Tushar Mehta sought some time to file report on the status of extradition of Mallya. At the outset, Mehta shared a letter of the ministry of external affairs' official Devesh Uttam written to him on the status of extradition of Mallya from the United Kingdom.

Visas have been issued to two Pakistani officials to visit India for assessing the security arrangements for the national team ahead of World Twenty20. The Indian high commission on Sunday issued the visas according to a statement from the Pakistan interior ministry. "All arrangements are complete for the security team to leave for India on Monday," the ministry said in the statement. "Director FIA Usman Anwar and Col. Azam from the Ministry of Interior will leave from Pakistan while the third member will join them from the Pakistan high commission in New Delhi," the ministry said. Col Azam is also the general manager of security and anti-corruption unit in the Pakistan board. "The team will meet the Chief Minister Himachal Pradesh and the state police chief and will prepare a report which will be sent to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar," the statement added.
