A newly-married couple from Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh district, who went to Sikkim for their honeymoon, has gone missing after their vehicle reportedly fell into the Teesta River amid heavy rain, officials said on Tuesday.
So far, over 30 people have died across Northeastern states due to heavy rainfalls, floods and landslides, according to media reports.
Places of peace were discovered in Odisha. And Sikkim.
The tourists were a state of shock.
The Sikkim Government has confirmed that 14 people have died so far in the flash floods that occurred in Sikkim in the early hours of Wednesday.
Landslides triggered by heavy rain cut off large parts of northern and eastern Sikkim, including Nathula pass, while efforts were being made to restore connectivity, officials said on Friday.
On day three after a flash flood wreaked havoc in Sikkim's Teesta basin, the number of bodies recovered from the river and mud embankments downstream rose to 22, including seven army men.
The flash flood affected 25,065 people in four districts - Mangan, Gangtok, Pakyong and Namchi, the report said.
When tourists were marooned in the snow in North Sikkim, the Indian Army rode to the rescue.

As scenes of devastation unfolded in Mangan, the worst-hit Sikkim district two days after the powerful earthquake, the fate of many remote hamlets, including several which are popular among tourists, is still not known. Chong Nagin, the village head of Lachung, said that on the fateful day he was in Gangtok and has not been able to reach his village. Lachung is a tourist attraction with several hotels and guesthouses, where people stay on their way to Yumthang valley.
When asked why the operation was taking so long, an officer said, "Actually a portion of the mountain has caved in and several parts of the roads have been completely ravaged. Moreover, we are not able to carry out high intensity blasts because other portions of the mountain are in a brittle condition and might come down."
