Less than a month before assembly polls in Bihar, a Delhi court on Monday framed charges against Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi and their son and leader of opposition Tejashwi Yadav in the alleged IRCTC scam case.
A 22-year-old man in Meerut, India, alleges he was tricked into marrying the mother of his intended bride. The complainant, Mohammad Azeem, claims his brother and sister-in-law arranged the marriage and the bride's 45-year-old widowed mother, disguised as the bride, was married to him instead. Religare Enterprises, a financial services firm, has disclosed that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) turned down its application to appoint Rakesh Asthana as its whole-time director in May this year without citing any reasons. It is the first time in last the 10 years that no new CBI chief has been named to succeed an incumbent.
The CBI did not oppose his bail petition.
