The National Investigation Agency has arrested two close aides of gangster Chhota Shakeel for allegedly handling the illegal activities and financial transactions of the crime syndicate controlled by fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, and for indulging in terror financing in the western suburbs of Mumbai, an official said on Friday.

Yes Bank has taken over the headquarters of Anil Ambani's group in suburban Santacruz in Mumbai for failure to repay dues worth Rs 2,892 crore. The private sector lender has also taken possession of two flats in South Mumbai for the non-payment of dues by Reliance Infrastructure, according to a notice published by Yes Bank in a newspaper on Wednesday.

Noted Hindi filmmaker Shakti Samata on Thursday passed away after a brief illness. He was 83. "He passed away at around 5 pm at his suburban Santacruz residence. He was recovering from a stroke which he suffered over two months ago," a family member said. Samanta had produced box-office hits like Kati Patang, Amar Prem and Aradhana starring Rajesh Khanna. His funeral would be held at Santacruz crematorium at 11 am on Friday, the family member said.
