A man was brutally killed by two individuals in Bhokar tehsil of Nanded district, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the victim, identified as Adinath Dubbewad, was standing in front of a shop near Bhosi bus stand on the Bhokar-Nanded highway.
Police said two unidentified men, who covered their faces with scarves, arrived on a motorcycle at the spot, and attacked Dubbewad with a knife without provocation, before fleeing.
Dubbewad was rushed to a hospital by locals in a serious condition. He succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning at a private hospital in Nanded, police said.
Investigation into the Nanded Stabbing
While the exact motive behind the killing remains unclear, authorities are investigating whether the attack was fuelled by an old grudge or other personal enmity.
"We have begun reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspects and trace their escape route," a police official said.
