Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his monthly 'Mann Ki Baat' radio broadcast, urged people to reduce their oil intake by 10% as a step towards fighting obesity. He highlighted the rising obesity rates in India and globally, emphasizing the need for healthier lifestyles. Modi also shared messages from Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra and boxer Nikhat Zareen, who urged people to adopt healthy habits and avoid fried food. Cardiac surgeon Dr. Devi Shetty highlighted the medical seriousness of obesity and linked it to excessive carbohydrate intake and oil consumption. Modi concluded by challenging 10 people to reduce their oil intake and pass the challenge on to 10 others.
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly underwent a second round of angioplasty in Kolkata on Thursday as two more stents were inserted in the coronary arteries.
Earlier this year, Ganguly was hospitalised in January twice after complaining of chest discomfort. Ganguly had suffered a heart attack while exercising at his Kolkata home and underwent a right coronary angioplasty.

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly was discharged from hospital on Sunday morning, three days after he underwent a fresh round of angioplasty to clear clogged coronary arteries, officials said.
He was diagnosed with three blocked coronary arteries, following which a stent was inserted in one to remove the blockage.
Ganguly will be discharged on Wednesday and thereafter he will be monitored at home on a daily basis
The hospital said: "Report of routine blood tests are satisfactory; Echocardiography shows preserved left ventricular function with an ejection fraction of 56 percent."
Ganguly will be ready for the next course of procedures or medical intervention after about 2-3 weeks
Among the other names tipped to make it to the Cabinet are Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sarbananda Sonowal, Baijayant Panda.
Ganguly, who endorses Fortune Rice Bran Cooking Oil, felt discomfort on January 2 while performing physical exercise in the home gymnasium at around 11 am. Following this, he underwent an angioplasty at the Woodlands Hospital.
He will be in Mumbai for a day to deliver a keynote address at Future Unleashed.
