An earthquake of moderate intensity shook Assam and rest of the north-east on Friday. But there was no immediate report of any casualty or damage to properties. The quake measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale, with its epicenter in Tezpur district, struck at 6.11 pm, said R F Dattatreya of the Meteorological Department in Delhi. He said the quake was of "moderate" intensity.
