'We feel strongly about so much injustice that is out there in the world. For us, it is very important that we take away this word called 'victim' and make something out of it. I want to celebrate survivors, always.'
Actors Raghubir Yadav, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Zoya Hussain discuss their JioHotstar series 'Hunkkaar: The Roar', which addresses sexual assault and victim-shaming. They express hope that the show will encourage viewers to speak out against such crimes and awaken the collective conscience of society.
Hunkkaar: The Roar is a fairly familiar fight for justice that builds far too many flimsy narratives around its core conflict, runs out of ammunition and speaks out of turn in a needlessly cussing tone, notes Sukanya Verma.
Aneet Padda's post-Saiyaara follow-up Hunkkaar: The Roar promises a dark, provocative thriller about a young survivor taking on a godman accused of sexual abuse.
'I don't like talking about my struggles because I find them quite small in comparison to what I have seen happening to the people in my country.' 'I don't think pursuing your dreams is a struggle.'
