Dozens of women health workers were injured when the police used lathicharge on their protest rally in Patna on Thursday. Several of them were also taken into custody. The police resorted to lathicharge after the women health workers, including trained mid-wives and members of the Accredited Social Health Activist, blocked the Dakbungalow square, the busiest junction in Patna.The health workers were demanding additional benefits and schemes, which have been denied to them.
