He was earlier arrested on July 29 by the Anti-Terrorist Squad under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act from suburban Mira Road.

Intelligence Bureau officials said that several important SIMI activists are still on the run. On top of the list of wanted men is Mohammad Altaf Subhan. Subhan specialises in designing bombs for the outfit. IB officials say that Subhan, a resident of Thane near Mumbai, had started imparting bomb-making training to several SIMI activists across the country.
Nagori and Mohammad Saleem were shifted to Rewa Jail, while Abdul Razzaq and Akbar Baig were transferred to Shahdol jail, under tight security, official sources said on Monday. Another SIMI activist Sheikh Mumtaz was shifted to Satna jail.
A court in Indore has sentenced three workers of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India to one-year rigorous imprisonment for attempting to create communal hatred.First Class Judicial Magistrate Neelesh Yadav on Wednesday convicted Parvez (32), Sajid Pasha(38) and Imran(30), all residents of Nayapura in the city.According to the prosecution, the accused were running SIMI activities from Nayapura area and literature aimed at creating communal hatred.
Adnan, an engineering graduate from Bijapur in northern Karnataka, made the costly mistake which helped the police track down the ten SIMI activists. Adnan was on the run ever since some of his accomplices were arrested in Karnataka last November.
"SIMI has various levels and have many modules," joint commissioner of police, Ashish Bhatia, said replying to a question on reported claim made by Delhi Police that Atif, one of the terrorists killed on Friday was the mastermind of the Delhi, Ahmedabad and other blasts in the country.

The Supreme Court on Thursday further extended the ban on the Students Islamic Movement of India till the second week of October.Justice Geeta Mittal of the Delhi High Court had lifted the ban on August 5 on the grounds that the evidence against the outfit was too weak to justify the extension of ban under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for allegedly indulging in terrorist and anti-national activities.The apex court had, however, stayed the operation of the order.
Justice Geeta Mittal, a Delhi High Court judge who is heading the tribunal, said the government cannot extend the ban on the basis of earlier records against the organisation. "What precluded the government from stating the facts? You have to satisfy the tribunal about the sufficiency of the reason behind issuing a fresh notification (on the ban)," Justice Mittal said.
The law ministry is learnt to have cleared a proposal of the home ministry seeking an extension of the ban on Student Islamic Movement of India for another two years.
Thirteen top leaders of the banned Student's Islamic Movement of India, who were arrested in Indore, had come to the city to finalise the training programme of its cadres, the police said on Friday. The leaders had been residing in Indore for over a month, a police official said, adding that the police have recovered news clippings from them relating to the Mumbai train blasts. The police was now trying to expose their local network.
"There has been substantial increase in Muslim population and also in (their) getting opportunity in various public sectors but because of some disgruntled elements are propagating, spreading rumours of government discriminating against them. The Anti Terrorist Squad of Madhya Pradesh police captured five suspected Students Islamic Movement of India activists from Sendhwa Pathar area in Barwani district following an encounter in the early hours on Monday, a top police official said.
Four people associated with the banned Students Islamic Movement of India were arrested on Thursday in connection with the Ahmedabad serial blasts, which claimed 55 lives.
"We searched the warehouse on Tuesday night and found the bag which contained one pistol, two live bullets, one air pistol, a seven inch long pipe bomb and 19 compact discs and DVDs," Chudasama said.
Blaming the incompetence of the Central government for the revocation of the ban on the Students Islamic Movement of India, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday said that it reflects the 'real face' of the United Progressive Alliance."The UPA has been incompetent in defending the ban on SIMI. This reflects the real face of the government and its soft attitude towards terrorism," party vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.
Another angle which investigating agencies are seriously probing is Joshi's affiliation with the SIMI. Investigating officers say during his stint with the SIMI, Joshi mingled with them all the time. In fact he had become a part of them and this had started to worry his group members.
According to the confessions made by Jaber, son of Moulana Nasirrudin, an accused in the Haren Pandya murder case, Safdar Nagori, the chief of the banned outfit had visited Hyderabad to zero down on a location to set up a terror training camp.
The tribunal, while lifting the ban on SIMI, was at pains to make scathing remarks against senior Home Ministry officials as they appeared before it without any preparation about the case.
'SIMI has been hijacked by elements in other countries and other Muslim societies, and some of them at least have become misguided and radical in their beliefs.'
The SIMI members, wanted by the National Investigation Agency, were arrested from a house in the steel city after a three-hour long operation.
"The families of the deceased have come to me and are weeping inconsolably for justice. We are going to move the MP high court for a CBI probe into the entire incident," lawyer Parvez Alam said.
Security agencies told rediff.com that this year Al Qaeda will team up with the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi to set up India operations.
