One person was killed and six others injured in a clash between two groups over an old property dispute in the Charwa area here on Thursday, police said.

The incident occurred in Bariyawan village under the Charwa police station when Ramanand, on his way to the fields, was allegedly attacked with sticks and sharp-edged weapons by members of the opposing group, identified as Prem Kumar, Ajay Kumar and Puneet, they added.

 

Hearing his cries for help, Ramanand's associates Shiv Murat, Ram Prakash, and Surendra Kumar intervened, triggering a violent face-off between the two sides. During the clash, all involved sustained injuries.

Investigation and Aftermath

Superintendent of Police Satyanarayan Prajapat said the injured were rushed to the hospital, while Puneet died on the way.

Statements from family members have been recorded, and three teams have been formed under the circle officer to investigate, the SP said.

A case has been registered, and further legal action is underway, the police added.
