In a shocking incident of domestic violence, a man in Uttar Pradesh is accused of biting off parts of his wife's nose and cheek, leading to severe injuries and a police investigation.

A woman was left seriously injured after she was allegedly assaulted by her husband, who bit off parts of her nose and cheek during a domestic dispute in Hamirpur, the police said on Thursday.
The incident occurred in Birhat village under the Chikasi police station limits. The victim, identified as Pana, was initially taken to a community health centre in Rath and later referred to a medical college in Jhansi due to the severity of her injuries.
According to her brother Amaruddin, Pana had frequent disputes with her husband Phool Khan.
On Wednesday night, an argument escalated between the couple and Khan brutally beat Pana. He bit her nose and cheek, causing injuries. A portion of her nose was severed, while her cheek sustained deep wounds, Amaruddin told police.
Doctors said the woman received around 10 stitches on her cheek and has been advised to undergo plastic surgery on her nose.
Police inspector Rakesh Kumar said a case has been registered against Phool Khan and his father Habib under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and efforts are underway to arrest them.
