Mohammed Afzal Guru's seven-year-old son Ghalib visited him in Tihar jail on Friday.

The courts, which convicted Guru for masterminding an attack on the Indian Parliament in 2003, have ordered Afzal's execution on October 20.

Afzal's wife Tabassum, and his grandfather Ghulam [Images] Mohammed accompanied Ghalib.

The visit comes a day after the family met President A P J Abdul Kalam, seeking clemency for Afzal.

Treated like any other inmate, Afzal undergoes a health check-up on regular basis, the sources said. "The jail doctor checks him everyday. He is fine. His diet is normal," they said.

Meanwhile, the jail authorities have kept the preparation for execution of Afzal on October 20 on hold since the mercy petition seeking commutation of his punishment was under consideration.
