Militants, suspected to be from the Al-Mansuriyan, attacked an Indian armed forces security picket in Baramullah on Wednesday.

Sources said nobody was injured in the attack.

The Baramulla incident comes close on the heels of the attack on the Tourist Centre in Srinagar [Images] where passengers of the inaugural Indo-Pak bus were put up.

Army sources said the Baramulla attack was carried out to create a ripple effect and discourage the passengers into returning their tickets.

An officer told rediff.com: "India should not be cowed down by the violence of two mad guys. The bus should go and we must prove a point."
