The four militant outfits, which have threatened to attack the inaugural Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus, stepped up the pressure on Saturday and issued threats against the families of the passengers.

The outfits -- Al-nasreen, Al-arifeen, Farzandan-e-Millat and the Save Kashmir Movement -- had on March 30 warned passengers against travelling by the bus, dubbing it a coffin.

In a faxed statement to the offices of local newspapers and news agencies on Saturday, the outfits said they have the "complete computerised records of those intending to undertake the travel and if the passengers did not heed the warning, the outfits would have no option but to strike such families and their homes."

It further said: "Those undertaking the travel would be indulging in a luxury aimed at burying the Kashmir question for good."

The statement said the militant combine had in some cases contacted the passengers in person. "If they still decide to ignore our warning, we shall be attacking them and their homes," the statement concluded.

The four outfits also renewed a shutdown call on April 7 when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] will flag off the inaugural bus.
