There are so many memorable songs to celebrate Rishi Kapoor.

Sukanya Verma lists Chintu's many musical melodies:

Jeevan Ke Din, Kaho Kaise Rasta, Kahin Na Jaa, Bade Dil Wala
Music: R D Burman
Lyrics: Majrooh Sultanpuri
Singers: Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar

Bade Dil Wala's delightful soundtrack elevates a standard mistaken identity masala significantly.

As always Rishi's romance game is on point.

Rishi Mera Naam, Naukar Biwi Ka
Music: Bappi Lahiri
Lyrics: Anjaan
Singers: Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle

Kya Naam Hai Tera? Daboo? Nahi Nahi! Chimpoo? Nahi Nahi! Chintu? Arre, Nahi Nahi! Rishi Mera Naam! It's only a song and dance special appearance, but Rishi's feverish, self-referential rock n roll around Reena Roy over their respective names is completely in sync with its 'dance with the music, romance with the music' conviction.

Chehra Hai Ya Chand Khila, Saagar
Music: R D Burman
Lyrics: Javed Akhtar
Singer: Kishore Kumar

The sight of Rishi Kapoor playing guitar in head to toe off white, flashing that dreamboat smile, daydreaming about a gorgeous Dimple Kapadia and her Saagar Jaisi Aankhen against Goa's seaside beauty, including a slo-mo chase in an empty fair -- etched in every single desi cinephile memory.

Mausam Pyar Ka, Sitamgar
Music: R D Burman
Lyrics: Majrooh Sultanpuri
Singers: Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle

Once again, Rishi and RD's successful pairing results in music for the ages.

More than three decades have passed, Mausam Pyar Ka is as fresh as dew, as good as new.

Mitwa, Chandni
Music: Shiv-Hari
Lyrics: Anand Bakshi
Singers: Lata Mangeshkar, Babla Mehta

Sweaters, Swiss Alps, Sridevi in chiffon -- it could only be a Rishi Kapoor song in a Yash Chopra dream.

Sochenge Tumhe Pyaar, Deewana
Music: Nadeem-Shravan
Lyrics: Sameer
Singers: Kumar Sanu, Sadhana Sargam

If Deewana marked Shah Rukh Khan's Bollywood debut, who would go on to become the new face of romance, it also features its erstwhile heart-throb Rishi Kapoor paying rich ode to his song and dance hero imagery, armed with different musical instruments, in the superhit Sochenge Tumhe Pyaar.

Sahibaan Meri Sahibaan, Sahibaan
Music: Shiv-Hari
Lyrics: Anand Bakshi
Singers: Jolly Mukerjee, Anuradha Paudwal

Sahibaan was a flop, but this tender Shiv Hari composition filmed on Rishi Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit deserves all our love.

Jaipur Se Nikli Gaadi, Gurudev
Music: R D Burman
Lyrics: Majrooh Sultanpuri
Singers: Shailendra Singh, Asha Bhosle

It's good to hear Shailendra sing for Rishi again while he and Sridevi frolic about all across Holland to RD's frothy beats of this long-delayed Vinod Mehra dream project.

Gawah Hain Chand Taare, Damini
Music: Nadeem-Shravan
Lyrics: Sameer
Singers: Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik

Not 100 percent original, but Nadeem-Shravan's desi touches and Rishi Kapoor's gentle adoration for his Damini lends it enough repeat value.

Rehna Tu, Delhi 6
Music: A R Rahman
Lyrics: Gulzar
Singer: A R Rahman

This brilliant Rahman song doesn't specifically belong to any actor. But considering it is Rishi Kapoor quoting 'Kaun jaaye Zauq par Dilli ki galiyan chhod kar?' to Abhishek Bachchan setting the stage for Rehna Tu, he might as well call dibs on it.

Thoda Sa Dard Tu. Thoda Sukoon. How very Rishi!
