'He DMed me. So millennial of us! He DMed me on Twitter, saying: "I've heard we should connect and uh... I've heard from common friends that we should meet. What do you think about that?" I was like, "just text me".'

Priyanka Chopra discussed her lavish wedding with Nick Jonas on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and revealed that her mother Madhu Chopra was not happy with the idea of having only 200 guests.

Priyanka explained it was unusual for an Indian wedding to have such a short guest list and her mother found it hard not to invite the people she knew.

Ellen said it seemed the wedding went on forever.

'It was just three days!' Priyanka exclaimed on the show. 'One Indian ceremony and one Western Christian ceremony, and one day of pre-rituals, which we have in the Hindu wedding. But it was not, like... usually, Indian weddings are a thousand people, at least. We only had 200, which was mostly family because both of us have giant families.'

'For an Indian family and an Indian wedding, (it was small) for sure. My mother was so upset with me the whole time. She was like, 'I need to have another wedding for the other 150,000 people that I know!'

'How can I not invite my jeweler? How can I not invite my hairdresser?' So it was a whole conversation,' Priyanka said with a laugh.

Ellen teased Priyanka for not inviting her to the December wedding even though she was once Nick's landlord.

Priyanka quipped: 'We were so offended that you didn't even respond to our invite. It's so true! I was like, "We're not good enough for Ellen? She wouldn't come to India? She doesn't even respond anymore? Nick, you've had such a good relationship with her..." I was very offended for him, honestly. But I'm just the wife. I don't know anything...'

Priyanka said she and Nick didn't know much about each other before they started dating.

'Everyone knew the Jonas Brothers; I just didn't know the music. I knew some of the songs but I really didn't know much about them. In fact, Nick and I both didn't know much about each other,' she said.

'We showed each other our work from when we were younger -- the embarrassing stuff, like, the horrible things... That's how we got to know each other's careers,' she said.

Priyanka spoke about how they fell in love as well.

'He DMed me actually. So millennial of us! He DMed me on Twitter, saying: "I've heard we should connect and uh... I've heard from common friends that we should meet. What do you think about that?" I was like, "just text me",' she said, adding, 'I'd seen (Nick's song) Close by then and that was the only thing I'd seen and I was like, Wow...!'

Gushing about her husband, Priyanka said she is surprised that he is not 'corrupted'.

'It shocks me how he's not been corrupted. We know when you're entertainment for such a long time... He's so family-driven, he's all about his parents,' she said.

Karan Johar would approve.

Priyanka also told Ellen about her next film.

She will star and produce a film based on Wild Wild Country, a Netflix docu-series following the Rajneesh cult.

Priyanka will play Rajneesh/Osho's influential assistant Ma Anand Sheela.

Director Barry Levinson (Rain Man), will direct the film. One of PeeCee's earliest hits Aitraaz was inspired by Demi Moore's act in Levinson's Disclosure.

'We are developing it as the character of Sheela who was this guru who originated from India (Rajneesh/Osho's) right-hand woman. And she was just devious and created a whole cult in America, brought people here,' Priyanka said about her new film.
