Dr. Sanjeev verma says, Hello folks, this is Dr Sanjeev Verma from Vidya Mandir Classes. You may post your questions related to JEE and I will try my best to answer them.
jointexam asked, Hi sir, i am in class 11...how can i prepare for IIT JEE? which are the other engg exams i should target?

Dr. Sanjeev verma answers, at 2012-03-26 14:49:50
First of all, you should understand that for cracking any examination , you should have dire determination to succeed in the exam. If you have that, automatically hard work & luck will fall in place. The preparation for IIT is not easy but is neither not so tough. All you need in regular dedicated progress in the right direction You can also look for AIEEE, BIT SAT exams which are also based on the same syllabus
IITJEE asked, which is the best university for IIT JEE

Dr. Sanjeev verma answers,
I am not sure what you imply by university but in case, if you want to know which coaching is good for IIT Jee preparation, that depends on lot of parameters - your location, your commitment towards school, your personal inclination etc. Anyway bottom line is choose a institute which could provide you 1) Care 2) Good material 3) Experienced faculties
saurav asked, sir i want to crack aieee, whats d most effective way to prepare in this one month???

Dr. Sanjeev verma answers,
1 month is a less time to revise the entire 2 yr syllabus but you can prioritize the topics in each subject. Make a plan for yourself which should include list of all topics and an allocated time against each. In the last 1 week, focus on previous year papers to get an idea of the pattern and the question type. On an average, AIEEE questions are more based on NCERT syllabus so you can quickly brush up concepts & examples from NCERT also.
saurav asked, SIR WHCH R MOST IMPORTANT CHAPTERS IN TERMS OF MARKS???

Dr. Sanjeev verma answers,
In Mathematics, 4 C's are important 1) Calculus 2) Complex 3) Combinatorics (P&C , Probability) 4) Coordinate Geometry 1 & 4 comprise almost 50% of the paper. You should make a list of topics in which you feel confident and focus them for marks. Also, make a plan for those topics in which you are weak. You should dedicate time in this 1 month to improve the level to an average student level.

Some of them are 1)Vidyamandir Classes 2) FIITJEE 3) Narayana In Kota, few of the famous institutes are : 1) Bansal Classes 2) Vibrant 3) Resonance My suggestion would be to visit a few to decide whether you would be able to get good care for your preparation there.

Dr. Sanjeev verma answers,
Well, there are many again. In mathematics particularly, there are books for each topic. Few of them are 1) IIT Mathematics ML Khanna 2) Objective Mathematics RD Sharma 3) Arihant I would recommend that you should have "32 yrs IIT papers". aprajita asked, What should be the minimum marks required to clear the IITJEE?

Dr. Sanjeev verma answers,
Minimum marks varies every year. There is no fixed cut off but I would say one should target for percentage above 60% to get under 2000 rank. With the increase in the seats, a student with 40% could also fetch a seat in IIT
aprajita asked, How much hours I should prepare for IIT JEE?

Dr. Sanjeev verma answers,
My answer would be :"As many as you can" . Think of it as a competition where 5 lakh other students are giving their best shots. If you want to make a mark, you have to give it all.
Rahul asked, Sir I am going to appear on 8th april' 12 in IIT exam. Normally how many questions are sufficient for admission..

Dr. Sanjeev verma answers,
Kartik, everything depends on the D-day. The paper could be easier or tougher this time. Looking at the statistics, the cut off for iit is the same ballpark. So, I would say you need to ta otherwise it is a border line case

Kindly throw some light on proposed change of HRD ministry regarding common entrance test to be implemented from 2013. Has the ministry implemented the scheme or it is yet to be implemented?

Nothing has been finalised as yet. Keep tuned for the update from HRD. But one thing is sure that board marks contribution will surely increase. Lets wait for the final verdict
Jatin Agrawal asked, Whether to join coaching or not in 12th class? Whether to join coaching or not in 12th class? Whether to join coaching or not in 12th class?

Dr Sanjeev Verma answers,
It depends on your time management. Many students join coaching right from 11th class and still able to manage both. You should try and give your best shot. Everything will fall in place. we dont know our boundaries unless and until we try.I think you would be able to manage both.
simrandeep asked, Will the JEE pattern be same or different this year ?

Dr Sanjeev Verma answers,
No one knows. There is always an element of surprise each year. But more or less the concepts will be the same. If there is a change, that will be for everyone. Keep your expectations low and be prepared for surprises on the D day
masoom asked, sir, My sister is in 10 th class rightnow.Which board is better to crack iit jee 2015?Gujarat state board or cbse?

Dr Sanjeev Verma answers,
Well there are talks about uniformity across boards, so my guess is in future it will not matter if a student is from state board or CBSE. If rest all parameters are same, choose CBSE as it is a wider choice.

Dr Sanjeev Verma answers,
That depends on the paper. If the paper is easy and 70% could fetch you 2000-3000 ballpark but if it is tough, can fetch you 500-1000 also
aprajita asked, Which book are best for Chemistry?

Dr Sanjeev Verma answers,
1) MS Chauhan: Organic Chemistry 2) Physical : P.bahadur 3) Inorganic : OP tandon
aprajita asked, I think Physics is the toughest paper in IITJEE, How I should overcome this?

Dr Sanjeev Verma answers,
Dont generalise the subject. I am sure there will be few topics in physics also which are your strong holds. Entire subject cannot be tough. Isolate the strong ones from the weak ones. Lets say you are strong in Optics, Electrostatics, Modern Physics, instead of lowering your confidence from the ones which you dont know, look up for these topics. Get the weak ones to moderate level
aprajita asked, Which board syllabus are similar to IIT JEE, CBSE or ICSE or Stateboard?

Dr Sanjeev Verma answers,
IIT jee is not biased to any particular board. The topics are same. The depth is same across all boards.
aprajita asked, Whether this type of test are common to any other ciuntries? If so pleae give name?

Dr Sanjeev Verma answers,
For engineering entrance, SAT is given in US.
