Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata has been conferred an honorary degree of Doctor of Science by the prestigious engineering institute IIT Kharagpur. The award was given in recognition of Tata's outstanding leadership in globalising India and transforming the Tata group as a formidable corporate entity, a press release issued in Mumbai on Tuesday said. Tata has been the Chairman of Tata Sons since 1991. During his tenure, the group's revenues have grown over $ 50 billion.
