Adding a fresh twist to the ongoing controversy over ownership of the Taj Mahal, the Shia community in Lucknow has claimed that the 17th century monument of love was a Shia property as Mumtaz Mahal in whose memory it was a Shia.
The All India Muslim Personal Law Board said that it would ask Qazis to tell bridegroom at the time of execution of 'nikahnama' that they would not resort to "three divorces in one sitting" as it was an "undesirable practice in Shariat".

While five pleas have been filed by Maulana Mufti Hasbullah, Moulana Mahfoozur Rehman, Mishbahuddin, Mohd Umar and Haji Nahboob, who are all supported by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, the sixth one has been filed by Mohammad Ayub.
The bench said that it will hear the matter because of the apex court's judgment in the Sabarimala temple case.
