BBC World has tied up with six mobile service providers in India. The broadcaster would be looking to deliver video news clips on mobiles soon. BBC World News has a global weekly television audience of 78 million, an increase of 2 million over last year, while the website presently attracts 29 million people a month. The online version of the website presently attracts close to 1 million visitors every month. BBC has no plan to introduce an India-specific English web soon.

British Airports Authority is considering raising the landing charges, thereby making air travel from India to London expensive from next year. The hike will be to meet the cost of expensive upgrades at airports. The BAA owns and operates seven British airports, including Heathrow. The Civil Aviation Authority said that BAA could increase the charges at Heathrow to 12.80 pounds per passenger next year with subsequent annual rises of no more than 7.5 per cent above inflation.

The world number 33 Sania went down 6-7 (4), 1-6 to 83rd ranked Keothavong in a one-hour-twenty-minute contest of the Tier II US $ 600,000 event.
