A court in Muzaffarnagar has acquitted five 2013 Muzaffarnagar riot accused due to the paucity of evidence against them.
The Special Investigation Team, probing the Muzaffarnagar riot cases, has reopened a gang-rape case of Phugana village in the district, following a directive by the Supreme Court.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Narender Kumar issued the arrest warrant against 22 accused, who are on the run, after Special Investigation Team probing the cases approached the court.
