The Gujarat government had on Monday admitted that Kausar Bi was murdered and her body burnt a few days after her husband was killed in a fake encounter in November 2005.
The court said it will pass its order after receiving a report from the Gujarat government whether it would be able to produce Kausar Bi, wife of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, who was branded as a Lashkar-e-Tayiba militant and killed in an encounter.
The concerned official is known to have worked with one of the arrested senior IPS officers, D G Vanzara, when he was heading the Ahmedabad Crime Branch.
"We have taken the three accused IPS officers -- D G Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandiyan and Dinesh Kumar M N to different places including a farm-house where Kausar Bi is suspected to have been eliminated," a police source said.
Till now, the CBI has examined 73 witnesses in the Sohrabuddin Shaikh alleged fake encounter case.
Now, a panch witness, Manoj Panara,turned hostile in the case.
Special CBI Judge S J Sharma ruled the prosecution has failed to put forth any "documentary and substantive evidence" to suggest or establish the alleged conspiracy.

A Bench of Justices Tarun Chatterjee and P K Balasubramanyan said it would pass appropriate orders on Thursday, but asked the Centre whether it was advisable to order a CBI probe at this juncture.
