Six persons were killed and four injured after a portion of a house collapsed on its adjacent structure on Thursday at Mumbra in Thane district of Maharashtra. The incident took place at approximately 4.30 pm at Sainik Nagar when the brick wall on the upper side of the house collapsed on the single-storied chawl located on the lower level. The wall collapse has been attributed to soil erosion which may have been worsened by the mild tremors.

Train services of the Central Railway were affected in suburban Mumbai on Friday morning after a water pipeline crashed on a local train near Thane railway station. Traffic on the slow tracks has been affected, railway sources said, adding that efforts were on to clear the route for resumption of rail traffic.All trains plying between Kurla and Thane stations have been halted, according to reports. Five people were trapped inside the damaged compartment, said officials.
