The bench also extended the interim protection from arrest granted to Chidambaram till September 5.
'Every person is presumed innocent unless proved guilty in a court of law,' the statement said.
The bribery incident allegedly took place in 2011 when Karti Chidambaram's father P Chidambaram was the Union home minister.

The apex court was hearing two separate petitions filed by Chidambaram challenging the Delhi high court August 20 verdict by which his anticipatory bail was dismissed in the cases registered by both the agencies-- CBI and ED.
A CBI spokesperson said he has been arrested on the basis of a warrant issued by a competent court.
The father-son duo are in the radar of the probe agencies in another case concerning the Aircel-Maxis deal.
