May 11, 2004 21:32 IST

Mahindra United were held goalless by JCT, Phagwara, in their 21st round match in the eighth National Football League in Ludhiana on Tuesday.

The goalless draw dented Mahindra United's hopes of finishing runners-up. They have 38 points from 21 matches and lit in third place.

JCT, who played their last match, finished fifth with 33 points.

The two teams failed to score despite some good efforts by their players, at the floodlit Gurunanak Stadium.
