Congress president Sonia Gandhi is set to be elected chairperson of the United Progressive Alliance.
A meeting of leaders from the Congress, its allies and the supporting parties, including the Left, is likely to be held in New Delhi on Wednesday to formally elect Gandhi, Congress sources said on Tuesday.
Gandhi, chief of the largest party in the UPA, has already been elected chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party.
The Common Minimum Programme will also be made public on Wednesday, the death anniversary of former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
