Congress leader and member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi on Saturday visited the tsunami-affected Periyakalapet village in Pondicherry.
After spending nearly 45 minutes in the village, Gandhi left for Chennai by road.

Visiting several houses in the village, the young MP, representing Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, gave a patient hearing to the grievances of fishermen and their families.
Chief Minister N Rangasamy, his
cabinet colleagues, Pondicherry Pradesh Congress Committee chief V Narayanasamy and Pattali Makkal Katchi leader M Ramadoss were among those who accompanied Gandhi.

Narayanasamy and Ramadoss acted as interpreters to Gandhi.
