If the government heeds to the Parliamentary Committee on Law and Justice's recommendations, judges of the Supreme Court and high courts would have a laptop each by the year-end.
The committee felt that while the move to computerise all levels of judiciary
is in progress, it would be of immense help to the judges if they were provided with laptops.
If the recommendations were to be implemented, it would cost the government around Rs 5 crore to provide laptops to 900-odd high court judges and 26 Supreme Court judges.
