A fast-track court in Ahmedabad sentenced a teenager to death on Monday for raping and murdering a toddler.
Magistrate S K Patel sentenced 19-year-old Balwant Thakore to death for raping and murdering a one-and-a-half-year old girl in Malek village of Mehsana district in Gujarat on April 29 last year.
According to the prosecution, Thakore lured the girl to the rear part of a temple and raped her.
Thakore confessed the rape and murder to a friend, who handed him over to the local police.
