Petroleum Secretary B K Chaturvedi was on Friday appointed the new cabinet secretary to succeed Kamal Pande.
Chaturvedi, a 1966 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, will have a term of two years, an
official statement said.
Chaturvedi was due to retire next month.
He will take up the new assignment on Monday, the statement said.
Pande, 61, was appointed cabinet secretary for a two-year term on November 1, 2002.
