Former United States president Bill Clinton was on Friday admitted to New York's Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for a heart surgery.
US news networks said the 58-year-old Clinton was undergoing tests at the hospital and would undergo quadruple heart bypass surgery.
Reports said Clinton decided to get himself admitted to a hospital after suffering chest pains in recent days. He initially got himself admitted to a hospital near his home in Westchester, New York state.
According to ABC News, Clinton may face quadruple bypass surgery at the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, which is considered as one of the leading institutions in the US.
Clinton's wife, New York senator Hillary Clinton, was not with him when he was admitted to hospital.
