UPA government the most inefficient: Advani

September 23, 2008 18:40 IST

Senior BJP leader and party prime ministerial candidate L K Advani [Images] on Tuesday alleged that the Manmohan Singh [Images] Government is the most inefficient one which compromised national security and pushed the price-graph due to its financial mismanagement.

"The Narasimha Rao government was corrupt, but the present government is the most inefficient and corrupt as its financial mismanagement has led to rising inflation and the voting during trust vote exposed its compromise on national security," Advani accused during the 'Sankalp' Rally at Dhumka.

The former deputy prime minister said the Congress' welfare programmes had been named after Gandhi family, ignoring several other leaders who sacrificed their lives fighting for India's independence.

Referring to the recent serial bomb blasts, he claimed that whatever arrests were made in that connection was under pressure from Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi [Images].
