The Narcotics Control Bureau has moved the high court against lower court's decision of framing charges for possession of 1 gm of cocaine against actor Fardeen Khan [Images].

Fardeen was arrested by the NCB in 2001 while taking delivery of cocaine from Nasir Shaikh, a drug peddler.

While the NCB wants to frame charges against him for possession of 9 gms of cocaine -- seized from Nasir the special Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances court held that charges should be framed only for 1 gm, which Fardeen says he wanted to buy.

Under the NDPS Act, possession of 1 gm of cocaine attracts a six month jail term, or the option to undergo rehabilitation therapy. For 9 gm, the punishment is a term upto 10 years.

The NCB has challenged NDPS court's decision in the High Court.
