One person suspected to have helped in procuring RDX for making bombs used in Hyderabad's Mecca Masjid blasts has been arrested from Maharasthra.

Soyab Jagirdar was arrested by Maharashtra police from his residence at Jalna town on Thursday and was handed over to a special investigation team from Andhra Pradesh, an officer of the Special Investigation Cell said.

The Andhra police team had gone to Jalna on a specific tip off about the suspect who allegedly helped to procure RDX, the officer said.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made in the city for the peaceful Friday prayers.

Terror struck on May 18 during Friday prayers at the historic Mecca mosque when a powerful bomb ripped through a gathering of thousands, leaving 14 people dead, including some killed in police firing during subsequent protests.
