Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam leader Vijaykanth suffered minor injuries aboard a Madurai-bound flight, when the plane was caught in a storm for a few minutes, officials said on Wednesday.

Vijaykanth had a slight injury on his forehead and was given first-aid, they said.

The Jet Airways [Get Quote] carrier coming from Chennai, however, landed safely at the airport in Madurai on Tuesday night and around 49 passengers in the plane were reported to be safe.
